Calcium Carbonate Grades We Supply to Saudi Arabia
We supply calcium carbonate in the main commercial grades used across Saudi industry.
Ground Calcium Carbonate (GCC) — Uncoated
The standard industrial grade produced by mechanical grinding of limestone or marble. Available in a range of particle sizes from coarse powder to ultra-fine grades. Manufacturers use uncoated GCC as a filler and extender in construction materials, rubber, adhesives and low-cost plastics compounding. Purity 97-98.5% CaCO3. Available in 100 mesh, 200 mesh and 325 mesh grades.
Coated Calcium Carbonate (GCC Coated)
Ground calcium carbonate treated with stearic acid to improve dispersion and compatibility with polymer matrices. PVC, polyethylene and polypropylene compounding specifically requires coated grades where uncoated calcium carbonate causes processing problems. Additionally, coated GCC improves impact resistance in finished plastic products. Available in 15 micron, 5 micron and 3 micron grades. Purity 98-99% CaCO3.
Fine and Ultra-Fine Grades
For paint and coatings manufacturing, fine particle size calcium carbonate in the 3-10 micron range is required to achieve smooth film formation and consistent sheen. Pharmaceutical and food-grade calcium carbonate is also available on request — same purity with additional documentation for regulatory compliance.

Calcium Carbonate Applications Across Saudi Industries
Plastics and PVC Compounding
The largest single market for calcium carbonate in Saudi Arabia is the plastics industry. As a filler material, coated calcium carbonate is critical in PVC pipe, PVC profiles, cable compounding and polyolefin film production. Specifically, Saudi Arabia has a significant petrochemical and plastics manufacturing base — particularly in Jubail and Yanbu Industrial Cities — and uses coated GCC in large volumes to reduce resin cost while maintaining or improving mechanical properties.
Paint and Coatings Manufacturing
Saudi Arabia has a well-established decorative and industrial paint industry supplying the construction and infrastructure sectors. Paint manufacturers use fine particle calcium carbonate (5-10 micron) as a primary extender and matting agent in emulsion paints, primers and industrial coatings. Furthermore, Furthermore, it contributes to opacity, scrub resistance and consistency in finished paint formulations.
Construction and Building Materials
Ground calcium carbonate is widely used in tile adhesives, wall putty, joint compound, cement additives and decorative plasters across Saudi Arabia. In particular, Vision 2030 infrastructure projects — NEOM, The Red Sea Project, Diriyah Gate and Riyadh urban expansion — represent a significant and sustained demand for construction-grade calcium carbonate throughout the kingdom.
Oil and Gas — Drilling Fluid Additive
Oil and gas engineers use calcium carbonate as a weighting agent and bridging material in drilling fluids. In fact, reservoir engineers prefer it in reservoir sections because it is acid-soluble — hydrochloric acid dissolves it out of the formation, unlike barite. Saudi Aramco and its contractors use calcium carbonate in drill-in fluids for reservoir completion work.
Agriculture — Soil Amendment
Saudi farms use agricultural-grade calcium carbonate and greenhouse operations for soil pH correction. Specifically, calcium carbonate raises acidic soil pH and provides calcium as a plant nutrient. Additionally, it is used in hydroponic growing media formulations and as a foliar calcium supplement for high-value crops.
Calcium Carbonate Supply to Riyadh and Khobar
Riyadh and Khobar are the two most searched locations for calcium carbonate supply in Saudi Arabia. In particular, both cities have active plastics, paint, construction and industrial sectors that require regular CaCO3 supply.
For Riyadh buyers, we supply by road freight from our Dubai warehouse via the UAE-Saudi border crossing. Lead time to Riyadh is typically 3 to 4 working days — faster than sea freight routes used by many regional suppliers. For Khobar and Dammam buyers, sea freight from Dubai to King Abdulaziz Port in Dammam takes 6 to 8 working days. Alternatively, road freight from Dubai to Khobar is available in 4 to 5 working days for time-sensitive orders.
For buyers in Jeddah and the western region, sea freight to Jeddah Islamic Port takes 5 to 7 working days. Yanbu Industrial Port is also served directly.
Calcium Carbonate vs Lime — What is the Difference
Calcium carbonate (CaCO3) and lime are related but different industrial materials. This material is ground limestone or marble in powdered form, used as a filler in its natural state or marble , extender and additive in its natural state. Lime is produced by heating calcium carbonate to very high temperatures, which drives off carbon dioxide and produces calcium oxide (quicklime) or calcium hydroxide (hydrated lime).
For plastics, paint, construction fillers and oil & gas drilling applications, calcium carbonate is the correct material. Lime is used for water treatment, flue gas desulphurisation and soil stabilisation. If your process specification calls for CaCO3, coated calcium carbonate or Arabian carbonate, Jazeera supplies those grades. If you need quicklime or hydrated lime, contact us separately for referral to the appropriate supplier.
Calcium Carbonate Price in Saudi Arabia
Calcium carbonate pricing in Saudi Arabia depends on grade (uncoated GCC, coated GCC or ultra-fine), particle size, quantity and current freight rates from Dubai to your delivery point. Coated grades cost more than uncoated due to the stearic acid treatment process. Ultra-fine grades (3-5 micron) command a premium over standard mesh grades.
Moreover, we supply at wholesale pricing with better rates for full container load orders. Regular buyers running monthly or quarterly supply programmes receive pre-agreed pricing. Call or WhatsApp +971 56 158 9555 for a same-day quote to Riyadh, Khobar, Jeddah or Dammam.
